Dr Salman Waqar is an academic general practitioner with various other portfolio roles. He is the President of the British Islamic Medical Association (BIMA) and has been involved with many projects and research activities looking at the health of British Muslims. He is the Co-Chair of the London Muslim Health Network and also is involved in cancer inequalities work through his role as a Clinical Lead at the Thames Valley Cancer Alliance. Dr Waqar holds an honorary academic post at Imperial College London, and through his expertise with Muslim communities will be supporting the study in its various stages from recruitment to dissemination.
